4Recycling had operated in this area of the country for some time, recycling a mix of more specialised by-products and far less volume.
There was very little lead time to get up and running, and to ensure the necessary EA registrations were in place it was a case of ‘all hands to the pump’ to make it happen.
Circumstances at the time meant that the mill produced significantly more material than expected and 4Recycling had to react to cope with this surge in production and fluctuating demands from the mill – which they did while still providing an efficient and compliant service.
4Recycling is working closely with ANL, looking at ways to further reduce costs by developing other less traditional routes for recycling the paper crumble and other waste by-product streams produced at the mill.
